Spring hike to Cave Creek Regional Park

Cave Creek Regional Park, a 2,922-acre park ranging in elevation from 2,000 to 3,060 feet, is located north of Phoenix on the upper Sonoran Desert.  The trail loops up and around a low mountain, returning to the trailhead.  The trail itself is moderately steep and rocky in spots, but for the most part is an easy hike.   It is a good place for a family hike.  There is a picnic/playground area near the beginning of the trail.  Directions:  Exit I-17 at Carefree Hiway, drive east 7 miles to 32nd St., turn north for about 1½ miles.
